About The Creator

Hello and welcome. My name is Ben Raisner and I am the creator of the products you see on Living Well Tools. My introduction to self talk training began in the 1980's when I was a competitive amateur wrestler. Early one season, a teammate introduced me to ‘The Power of Positive Thinking’ by Norman Vincent Peale. This famous book peaked my interest in how mental training could help me excel in sports competition.

Around this same time, I was fortunate enough to meet the head sports psychologist at the University of Iowa. He introduced me to visualization and positive affirmation. I diligently practiced the concepts I had learned and after a few weeks of practice, I found my motivation was increasing along with my workout intensity. Also, I noticed I was feeling more calm and focused before and during competition.

As a result, my performances improved dramatically and I ended that season as an undefeated state champion. My success with mental training was published in Mental Training for Peak Performance (Publisher: Lansing, N.Y. : Sport Science Associates, ©1984, Eugene Gauron).

Thereafter, I continued studying the psychology of success and how to apply it to my life. I kept refining what I learned and tested my results. I kept what worked and discarded what didn't. As a result, I arrived at a framework for the programs you see on this site.
